We all come face to face with situations in life that are scary and may cause us to panic. This is a perfectly normal response and the difference between this normality and a panic disorder is that those who have a disorder panic at times when it really isn’t called for and this is when you need to start searching for a panic attacks cure.
Some people may just be casually driving along in their car and then suffer an attack, some may be doing the grocery shopping and have an attack in the middle of the supermarket, there are many situations and their panic is not rational.
If you suffer from irrational panic then you might want to sit down and analyse your situation. Where were you and what were you doing when you had your first attack? If you can find the cause or situation then you are taking the first step to recovery. Continue reading ‘The Panic Attacks Cure To Help You Overcome Your Panic Disorder’ »

The use of herbals and natural substances for sinusitis can be very effective against sinusitis. Most sinusitis herbals used as remedies do not possess any of the disadvantages that come with antibiotics and decongestants that may have side effects. Some people are allergic to specific chemicals and often times penicillin. Herbal remedies are simple to use. One can take them in the form of a capsule or make an extract by dissolving in warm water. Sinusitis herbal remedies are a clean way of treating sinusitis and could be as simple as inhaling their vapors or drinking an herbal tea and the effects begin within minutes when the mucus starts flowing and one can blow the nose to lose the stuffiness.
Licorice, also known as glycyrrhiza glabra, contains adrenal stimulating content that inhibits inflammation inside the nasal passage. Licorice also increases the life-duration of cortisol, a hormone that works against inflammation. However one must consult the doctor before using licorice extract or taking the capsules as it can cause loss of potassium and have side effects due to conflicts with other medications taken for the heart. Although the elderly are less active and need less energy from food than young adults, their nutrient requirement is just as important, if not more. Therefore, it is crucial that meals are planned for the elderly to ensure that they can receive their daily required servings of nutrients. Here are some guidelines that can help you during your meal planning for the elderly:
1. Select white fish or white meat of poultry. Darker fish and the dark meat of poultry are much higher in fat. When eating red meat, be sure you trim the fat. Choose packages of ground meat that are marked “extra lean”.
2. Drink skim milk often. The calcium and high-quality protein in milk are extremely beneficial. Even though bones may have stopped growing, the body needs calcium to prevent bone deterioration. Continue reading ‘Healthy Eating Guide For the Elderly’ »

Sinusitis is an infection within the sinus cavities of the skull. The symptoms and the cures for sinusitis vary greatly and can range from sniffing and cough to post nasal drip, from prescribed antibiotics to herbs. Sinus infection can be caused by a multitude of factors including allergies. Once the sinuses are infected, the condition can be both bothersome and difficult to relieve. There will be millions of sufferers this year alone, who will each be desperately seeking cures for sinusitis.
One way to cure or prevent infection is to control allergies. Allergies that affect the nose, such as hay fever as well as irritants like cigarette smoke, hairspray and cleaning products can cause the nasal membranes to swell. This in turn blocks nasal passages which are the hollow spaces within the bones around the nose. When nasal passages are blocked, mucus cannot drain properly. If the mucus builds up, the sinus is more likely to become infected. It is especially important to limit exposure to irritants if one is prone to nasal allergies. Ask family members to smoke outside and wash pets weekly if animal dander is the cause of the allergy. Continue reading ‘Prevention is One of the Best Cures for Sinusitis’ »

There appears to be an increasing number of people who said that they suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). MCS develops from an exposure to specific chemicals. The sufferer experiences various symptoms thereafter. These symptoms will surface even when the person is exposed to low levels of these chemicals but for a prolonged period of time. Once the person is no longer around these chemicals, the symptoms disappear.
MCS is also known by other names. They include toxic injury (TI), chemical sensitivity (CS), environmental illness (EI), chemical injury (CI), Sick Building Syndrome, idiopathic environmental intolerance (IEI) and Toxicant-induced loss of tolerance (TILT). All of them are variations that primarily refer to the same condition.

There is, by now, sufficient evidence accumulated to make the correlation between cancer and earth energies strong enough to warrant serious consideration. No longer is it enough to dismiss such claims as some ‘New Age’ mumbo-jumbo, especially since the hard evidence has been around for nearly 100 years.
It began in 1929 with a careful investigation of a small German town to find out why so many of the inhabitants died of cancer. It had the highest death rate from cancer in the country. Each of the beds of the deceased was subsequently found to be directly over a line dowsed independently, under careful supervision. The line was a line of geopathic stress.
‘Geopathic stress’ is a term used to describe a wide variety of energies arising from the earth in one form or another. The most common originates from underground water which creates a narrow but highly potent band of energy which can be measured and recorded by sensitive instrumentation. This energy can severely disrupt the functions of the nervous system leading to cancer as well as other serious diseases. Continue reading ‘Cancer's Relationship With Location’ »

Prostate cancer is the male equivalent of breast cancer, which plagues millions of women. Fortunately, a little precaution can reduce the dangers of prostate cancer, and might even help save your life. It is crucial for men to pay attention to their health, especially as they age. Prostate cancer is the third major cause of cancer-related deaths in men. Many men do not realize the severity of this hazardous disease and fail to receive regular prostate checkups.
Prostate cancer starts with the growth of a malignant tumor inside the prostate gland and spreads by extending into the bladder, seminal vesicles, and peritoneal cavity. It eventually metastasizes to the bones, lymph nodes, lungs, liver, and kidneys. The cause of prostate cancer is unknown, although recent studies find a small relation between increased testosterone levels and high dietary fat intake. Prostate cancer is rarely occurs in men under 40 years of age. The highest level of occurrence is greatest in African-American men over 60 years old. Increased occurrence is also associated environmental exposure to cadmium, a metallic element. The lowest incidence of prostate cancer occurs in vegetarians. Being diagnosed with cancer is devastating, there’s nothing like the impact of those three little words, “you have cancer.” I know this only too well as a 10-year survivor and as someone whose Mom, Dad, Aunts and Grandpa have battled with the disease.
At the time of my diagnosis I was shell shocked, as most of us are. I was even more confused by the variety of treatment choices offered me. Decisions about a lumpectomy or mastectomy, a TRAM flap or silicone or saline implants were all part of this challenging time.
While I’m a big proponent of having choice, after all, it is our body, it was one of the few times in my life where I would have loved to have passed off the decisions to someone else. But that wasn’t an option and so I made my own decision, after lots of reading and interviewing.
While no one had an issue with my choices, this isn’t always the case. I had a friend who chose alternative cancer treatments, to many of her friends dismay. My own Mom, after two brutual rounds of chemotherapy announced that she was done regardless of what her oncologist said. Her decision was incredibly upsetting to me, but as someone who had just gone through her own cancer journey, I felt strongly that the decision around her cancer treatment was hers to make.
In situations like these, what are the steps you should take to help the cancer patient through their treatment journey? The following nine tips will help you navigate this challenging time. I am always annoying my family by insisting they don’t drink from cans or bottles. Unless I “nag” them when we are out they will happily just purchase one from a shop somewhere and raise it to their mouths.
Maybe they feel drinking from a straw or glass isn’t macho or cool. At home they have no such qualms and always use glasses, usually so many I complain about the washing up.
