Jane woke up one morning and was astonished to find a strange man in bed with her. “Who are you and what are you doing here?” she shouted as the man looked on with surprise and shock. Jane, aged 71 is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. The intruder in her bed is her husband of 60 years and is someone who dearly loved her and has shared the bed with her all the while they were happily married.
Alzheimer’s disease is a form of dementia named after the German physical Alois Alzheimer (1864 to 1915). Sufferers of this disease gradually lose their memory. As one of the worst form of memory loss, those afflicted can remember events that happened 20 years ago but not what they ate for breakfast half an hour ago.
Notable dignitaries afflicted by Alzheimer’s disease include the late US President Ronald Reagan. Once the disease has progressed, sufferers don’t even recognise their closest relatives. The world that surrounds us is very beautiful. It is a manifesting of the “out blinking” of Divine Blueprints contained within the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God.
All beauty is also within our consciousness because we too are Divine Blueprints of the Quantum Ocean, Mind of God. Down through the Ages we have added erroneous energies to our Divine Blueprint. We have through our ignorance, dirtied them. This is what manifests as old age and disease.
We would not be able to see beauty outside of us if we did not have beauty within us. We are just one part of life and inseparably bound to it. We can learn something from every tree, flower, rock and mineral if we would but learn how to look. (more…)
When a person grows old, the body eventually gets weaker, since it has been alive and functioning for the past, let’s say, seventy years. The body is strong enough to stand the test of time, at least for a hundred years or so. As you age, your kidneys’ ability to help your body retain water diminishes and your ability to sense thirst decreases. So, as you get older you need to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Along with fiber, water is important in preventing constipation.
One easy way to make sure you’re getting enough water is to drink a big glassful when you first get up in the morning; then drink 6 to 8 more glasses (8 ounces each) throughout the day. If you drink other liquids, you can get by with less water, but plain water is best. (Milk is another good choice, with the added bonus of a boost of calcium.)
