Why do some people choose to use drugs when they’re so bad for you? The causes of drug addiction are as varied as the amount of drugs that are available for use – both legally and illegally. There is no one cause for drug addiction just like there is no consistent profile of a drug user.
People who have a history of drug use or abuse in their families are at risk for drug addiction problems. It has been proven that children of alcoholics will exhibit addictive tendencies. Children of alcoholics or drug users generally have low self-esteem and see their parents escaping from problems using drugs. When they see this, their minds say that this is the way to act and they themselves become users.
There is also a biological basis for causing drug addiction. Drugs alter the brain’s chemicals and the way the brain functions. Drug addiction creates dependence in the brain by changing the brain’s reward functions – the part that reinforces certain behaviors.

Roche: novel Herceptin formulation promises greater convenience
Having stepped up lifecycle management for its leading breast cancer monoclonal antibody, Herceptin, Roche hopes to encourage uptake of a more convenient formulation of the drug. This strategy could help to conserve its share of an increasingly competitive market, but may be challenging to implement due to concerns over compliance and financial incentives to prescribe intravenous cancer drugs. Roche has invested roughly CHF190m ($183m) at two production sites to manufacture devices that will allow patients to self-administer a subcutaneous formulation of Herceptin (trastuzumab; Roche/Genentech/Chugai). Continue reading ‘Roche: novel Herceptin formulation promises greater convenience’ »

A rollator is very similar to a walker. They allow a person a way to be supported while walking, but they have wheels connected to each of the feet, making it easier to get around than with a walker. A rollator is a common choice for someone who is elderly or in poor health but still able to move around with a fair amount of proficiency.
Walkers require the user to pick it up and set it down as they walk. But with a rollator, you can use it as a means of support while you’re walking. They are geared more towards someone who is able to get around well, but still needs support to move around well. Some rollators are designed with a walker in mind, meaning that the breaks engage as weight is pressed down on the rollator. It’s a great safety feature for someone who has problems getting around. However, you may consider avoiding this option if the user is too heavy as to cause it to engage too often. Continue reading ‘Rollators Or Walkers – Which One is Right For You?’ »

When it comes to reducing your risk of developing colon cancer, there is a lot of good news. This is a type of cancer that usually develops slowly, which means that there is time to take steps to prevent it or at least to detect it before it becomes serious.

Are you looking for a fresh approach to leukemia cures? If so then you may want to know that there are natural leukemia cures available. Many people who have cancer find themselves looking for these cures simply because the traditional medical treatments for these illnesses take so much out of the patient physically. This being said it is certainly not uncommon to find that many are looking for cures that don’t make them as sick and don’t leave them feeling completely and utterly drained.
Alternative natural treatment methods include detoxification and oxygenation that you could use to cure yourself of cancer. As for their loved ones, they may even be the ones that see it first and begin the search for a natural method because seeing their family member go through so much might simply be too much for them to handle, and they are not even the ones enduring them.
Why are natural treatments better?
Natural treatments have been proven to actually cure cancer just like the medical treatments have. The best part of these is as mentioned above the side effects are nothing in comparison to the side effects of the chemical treatments. Most of the natural remedies actually have no side effects at all. These might be what draw so many people to those natural treatments. Continue reading ‘Leukemia Cures and Natural Treatments’ »

The correct treatment of cancer is a matter for almost endless debate, simply because no one knows how to treat cancer currently. We deplore increasingly common creature ” The Triumphalistic Oncologist”, so eloquently caricaturized in the editorial with this title in the journal Surgery, Gynecology, and Obstetrics, his attitude of mind seems to be that in repudiate any advance that has gone before.
Such as self serving approach is clearly ludicrous it deliberately ignores the established fact that conventional treatments of cancer , based on either scientific fact or imperial discoveries, can cure at least one third of all cancer patients, essentially controlling their disease to such an extend as to given then normal life expectancy. The real objective is to see whether this successful fraction can be even marginally increased by the correct use of all therapeutic resources. Every day, 1100 citizens of the US die of cancer. If it were possible to decrease this number by even one tenth, this would mean the saving of 110 lives a day, 770 a week, 3300 a moth, and 40,000 in the course of the year. Nursing homes are supposed to exist to care for the aging members of our society who are no longer able to care for themselves. They are supposed to be places of safety and security where our elderly loved ones can get the often extensive care that they need and the love and support of the staff that they desire. Unfortunately, these nursing homes have become less and less about the patient and more and more about turning a decent profit – or a more than decent profit.
One of the biggest drains on the finances of any business can be the employees, and the more highly trained and well educated these employees are, the more expensive they are to keep in employ.
