While acne usually targets teens, adults and 20-somethings (like me) can get a flare-up of blemishes or worse. Which, in turn, usually puts a quick damper on my social life.
If you’re like me that’s the last thing you want. So here are 7 simple steps you can follow to help clear up acne:
1) Keep your hands off your face—sweat, grime, bacteria are frequently picked up from other places and end up on your hands.
2) Wash your face twice daily—grime, grease and air pollution (I’m in LA) all come
in contact with your face. Use a clean washcloth, warm water and mild soap/cleanser. (more…)
If you are reading this then most probably you are suffering from the “Plague of the Zitsâ€. What can you do? How can you get rid of those zits? It’s a nightmare.
The mirror is your worst enemy, it doesn’t lie. It is a constant reminder that you have been cursed by the goddess ACNE and she has no intention of releasing you from her grasp. Her army of blackheads, whiteheads and pimples – “the Zits†– have set up camp on your face and have no intention of giving up ground.
You call up your defences, an army of paid mercenaries from ProActiv, Acnezine, Accutane and Retin-a and other places, all good fighting men and for who’s services you have paid a great deal of money. Before purchasing, it is important to learn about acne treatments so you know what your looking for. In the past few years if you have purchased acne treatments you will have noticed that there is a huge range of different qualities and prices. Certain brands are more affordable while others are very pricey, it seem ridiculous to pay such a price for some. How do you know a reasonable price to pay for acne treatments? Many things will affect the prices of acne treatments and the particular one that YOU pick should be most beneficial to YOU and be at the price that YOU find reasonable.
Manufactures of acne treatments usually pay advertising agencies very large sums of money to make a demand for their acne treatments. The advertising is necessary to ensure that people searching for acne treatments know the available products from that manufacturer. Effective advertising tends to require a large amount of money because advertising costs have skyrocketed the past couple years. Costs for advertising helps determine the price for acne treatments because manufactures want to make sure they are still earning a profit from their treatments. Just because an acne treatment is well known, doesn’t mean that it is good quality, or a reasonable price. This could just mean that the manufactures charge more to make their product better known.
Depending on the ingredients in acne treatments will also cause differences in prices of treatments. Ingredients that cost more will typically cause the treatments to have higher prices than they normally would. Many people can’t tell the difference with quality in different acne treatment ingredients. Many buyers will choose acne treatments based on how the treatment works for them, as apposed to what ingredients are in the treatment.

Cystic acne is a skin condition often confused with acne vulgaris.
The difference in these two conditions is that while acne vulgaris causes whitehead acne and black heads; cystic acne causes ingrown – usually hard and painful – cyst like acne or boils. Cystic acne affects the deeper skin tissue, thus, a deep scar is often left behind.
Cystic acne is difficult to treat and is often quite damaging due to the physical and emotional scars associated. For this reason, early and aggressive treatment is critical wether the cystic acne breakouts be severe or occasional. (more…)
