When the thyroid gland is not responding to the pituitary gland’s release of thyroid stimulating hormone, the result is a hypoactive thyroid, or hypothyroidism, and insufficient levels of thyroid hormone in the blood. This condition affects more women than men, and requires life long treatment to replace the hormones not being produced by the thyroid.

The hormones secreted by the thyroid are: Continue reading ‘Understanding Hypoactive Thyroid Causes, Symptoms and Treatments’ »

Psoriatic arthritis actually consists of two separate condition: psoriasis and arthritis. Psoriasis is very common and involves the development of raised, red skin patches and scales on the skin. With psoriasis, the skin’s appearance changes while arthritis is related to the inflammation of joints.

Autoimmune Disease

Psoriatic arthritis is thought of as an autoimmune disease, meaning that aspects of your immune system, such as cells and antibodies, begin attacking their own tissues. The chances of a person having psoriatic arthritis and not have suffered at one time or another from psoriasis isn’t great. The likelihood of developing arthritis increases when the symptoms of the skin are severe.

Men and women are both equally affected by this condition. Though, men have a tendency to suffer from spondylitic forms affecting their spines, while women are victims of rheumatoid forms that affect the joints. While people of all ages can develop it, those in the range of 35-55 are at the greatest risk. Continue reading ‘What Are The Causes Of Psoriatic Arthritis?’ »

Treating a yeast infection is a nasty business. Finding a cure that is effective, lasting and cost-efficient can help take some of the sting out the process, if not the rash. Unfortunately, there are numerous reasons why male yeast infection treatment gets delayed. Diagnosis is the leader among them.

It can be embarrassing for a man to receive treatment for a yeast infection. This is because they have typically been thought upon by the general public as being a predominantly feminine condition. Like breast cancer, however, yeast infections do occur in men, and should receive treatment to avoid passing the fungus on, or having it spread to other areas. In men, a yeast infection can be present on the penis, in the groin area as jock itch, in the armpits and in stomach folds or other areas of layered skin.

Male yeast infections have been long ignored. They often do not present the highly visible symptoms that vaginal yeast infections do. This can make them hard to detect and easy to pass along. Yeast infections can be transmitted during intercourse if your partner has a vaginal yeast infection. This is why many women when receiving treatment also ask that their partners do as well. If one person is successfully treated for a yeast infection, but her partner is not, he can re-expose her to the overgrowth of fungus through sexual contact. Alcoholism is the addiction for alcohol.  In America alone, there are about 14 million alcoholics.  This obsession for liquor goes beyond the control of the drinker.  Like any other addiction, it is identified as a disorder.  While there is no known medical cure for this, it can still be treated.  Recognizing these warning signs of alcoholism may help you or someone you know from falling into addiction.

Blackouts:  This happens when an individual completely forgets what has transpired in the occasion that alcohol was consumed.  These people seem to have very little or no memory at all about their actions or the turnout of events just before passing out.  Constant blackouts resulting from alcohol consumption is a red flag of alcoholism. Scabies is a very contagious skin condition caused by contamination with parasite microscopic mites. The mite responsible for causing scabies in humans is called Sarcoptes scabiei var. hominis and it can be easily acquired through contact with infested people or contaminated objects. Due to its very contagious character, scabies is very likely to cause serious epidemics in overcrowded orphanages, nursing homes, kindergartens and schools. In order to prevent the spreading of scabies, doctors recommend people with the condition to avoid entering in contact with others. Scabies mites can live for up to a week without a human host. Thus, bed linens, towels, clothing and all the other personal items of people affected by scabies need to be properly washed in hot water to avoid a second infestation. BIRD FLU CURE FOUND by J.E. Ante Bird flu most often originates in Asia especially China where the soils are depleted of selenium. This is where the wild migratory birds of Asia feed on selenium deficient soils and plants about half of the year. Selenium is required for a strong immune system and so for 6 months these wild birds weaken their immune systems by nesting in this region and often contract mutated viral infections from the local bird populations.

The local Chinese peoples who live close to the land and their domestic fowl and livestock are also feeding off the same selenium depleted soils of China all year. The local Chinese population and their animals are more severely depleted of selenium and at far greater risk of viral infections than the wild bird populations. So a great incubator of viral infections for mankind is born with wild birds intermingling with domestic local birds and man. This leads to a crossover of viral infections from the three weakened links in local ecology of man, domestic animals, and wild birds.

Selenium is a common mineral which can be mined throughout the world. Soils in parts of China and many other areas of the world are severely deficient. To end this great incubator of viral diseases for men and Nature mankind needs only decide to do it. A simple selenium soil additive spread across areas where wild birds and water fowls nest and feed will break the chain of these viral transmissions to men from wild birds. Larger land areas might be sprayed by airplanes like crop dusting as the most economical way to end selenium deficient soils.

The cause of a panic attack may be a relatively common thought when we begin thinking about them. Unfortunately can come from many different, individual, and combined sources. Some sources of anxiety are major, some minor, but they all add up enough to cause the attacks. How do we identify the sources?

A very reliable way to do this, is to keep a daily journal that we can primarily keep our thoughts on. Every time we take an action and get a negative or uneasy feeling, just remember to write down what we were doing, how others reacted, how we felt about it, and any other details we may judge necessary. Flu also known as ‘Influenza’ is a highly contagious viral infection. The word Influenza derived from the Italian language and refers to the cause of the disease. Influenza is an infectious disease caused by RNA viruses of the influenza viruses, which affects birds and mammals. The name influenza comes from the Italian influenza, meaning “influence”. The most common symptoms of the disease are chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort. Fever and coughs are the most frequent symptoms. In more serious cases, influenza causes pneumonia, which can be fatal, particularly for the young and the elderly. Although it is often confused with other influenza-like illnesses, especially the common cold, influenza is a much more severe disease than the common cold and is caused by a different type of virus. The influenza even has its own season — from November to April, with most cases occurring between late December and early March.

Typically, influenza is transmitted through the air by coughs or sneezes, creating aerosols containing the virus. Influenza can also be transmitted by bird droppings, saliva, nasal secretions, feces and blood. Infection can also occur through contact with these body fluids or through contact with contaminated surfaces. Airborne aerosols have been thought to cause most infections, although which means of transmission is most important is not absolutely clear. Influenza viruses can be inactivated by sunlight, disinfectants and detergents. As the virus can be inactivated by soap, frequent hand washing reduces the risk of infection.
