Back pain can come from many sources. If it occurs from early childhood, sometimes this pain can be caused by a condition of the spine called scoliosis a condition which occurs when the spine is not straight. Depending on where the curve starts, scoliosis can also deform the ribs, causing them to push the chest out in front and in back. The back pain that accompanies this condition depends on where the curve begins and how severe it is plus the age of onset.

Scoliosis usually begins at birth. Genetics plays a key role in the onset of scoliosis, although the exact source is unknown. Eighty percent of all patients diagnosed with scoliosis are considered to have inherited the condition. Eighty-eight percent of patients with scoliosis are female. The onset of scoliosis can be broken down into infantile, juvenile, adolescent and adult. Adult onset is almost always scoliosis that was not discovered or treated at an earlier time.

If you have been experiencing symptoms associated with a lung condition, you most likely have seen a PPH specialist. If a physician has diagnosed you with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, there are many things to consider, most importantly, the management of Primary Pulmonary Hypertension.

Unfortunately, at the present time, there is no cure for Primary Pulmonary Hypertension. The only treatments the PPH specialist can recommend are a series of drugs and, as a last resort, if your condition worsens, a lung transplant. Except in an emergency, you cannot be given a treatment or test without your “informed consent.” You must be informed of the risks and agree to the treatment. In a partnership, however, informed consent may not be enough. The real goal is shared decision-making, where you actively participate in every medical decision.

Why should you help make decisions with your doctor? Aren’t you paying him or her to know what to do? Well, the choices aren’t always black and white. With many health problems, there is more than one option. Consider these examples:

  • You have moderately high blood pressure (160/95). Your doctor says that exercise and diet might bring it down, but most people don’t succeed that way. Your doctor recommends that you start on medication to control it. You would rather try exercise and lose weight than take pills for the rest of your life. The best decision depends on your values.
  • Your three-year-old has a headache and a fever. The doctor says it’s probably nothing to worry about. Then you mention your hunch that it might be meningitis. Some testing may be appropriate.

Water plays a major role in the detoxification and the cleansing of toxins from your body. The water that best helps in the detoxification process should be in its purist form. To obtain pure water, water needs to go through a filtration process so that harmful chemical agents are removed.

Water is a natural solvent, transporter, lubricant, and coolant. Therefore, it can greatly help in the removal of waste. It aids in the removal of waste and toxins from the bloodstream, thus enabling reduced water retention and in weight loss. Water is also an electro negative enhancer, meaning that it uses the space between red blood cells optimally. This property helps to reduce clotting and heart disease problems.

There appears to be an increasing number of people who said that they suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). MCS develops from an exposure to specific chemicals. The sufferer experiences various symptoms thereafter. These symptoms will surface even when the person is exposed to low levels of these chemicals but for a prolonged period of time. Once the person is no longer around these chemicals, the symptoms disappear.

MCS is also known by other names. They include toxic injury (TI), chemical sensitivity (CS), environmental illness (EI), chemical injury (CI), Sick Building Syndrome, idiopathic environmental intolerance (IEI) and Toxicant-induced loss of tolerance (TILT). All of them are variations that primarily refer to the same condition.

I am always annoying my family by insisting they don’t drink from cans or bottles. Unless I “nag” them when we are out they will happily just purchase one from a shop somewhere and raise it to their mouths.

Maybe they feel drinking from a straw or glass isn’t macho or cool. At home they have no such qualms and always use glasses, usually so many I complain about the washing up.
