Even though the blotchy, dark areas left by post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (often called “PIH”) are not technically scars, they are still troublesome enough that many would prefer to have some sort of hyperpigmentation removal performed. Sure, “PIH” will eventually fade and disappear on its own, but do you want to wait for that to happen? After all, it can take as long as two years for darker spots to clear up. If that is too much of a risk for you, you may want to consider the most effective removal method out there.

Your Best Option

The most successful way to relieve yourself of the remnants of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation is to consider a procedure called microdermabrasion. Unlike dermabrasion, which is reserved for the elimination of very deep, severe acne scars, microdermabrasion is usually recommended for issues such as those caused by “PIH” marks. It is a simple procedure that can be done very quickly, and is often not only offered by dermatologists, but also in many day spas.

Body acne requires continuous treatment and skin care to be managed. Sometimes, it disappears after adolescence but it can recur at any time. See a dermatologist to be certain about the skin condition you have before you follow any line of treatment. Depending on the area of occurrence, it can hinder routine activities and cause substantial discomfort to the sufferer.

Why it happens

Body acne is largely caused by genetics, irritation caused by clothing, leftover soap on cloth and incomplete cleansing during a bath. Body acne can be painful since the pores on the body tend to be larger, so the eruptions are large. Besides, their location is such that there is regular contact with another surface which exacerbates the problem. The constant contact with another surface causes the acne to burst and spread to other pores. If you are the sporty type, one reason could be that you have not cleaned the perspiration effectively. This leads to infected pores and acne pustules. Harsh cleansing agents are another cause for acne. You have to adjust your habits to suit your body responses.

Removing sun damaged skin and to stop wrinkles from returning can take some time. But it took a lot of time for the sun to damage your skin. So with patience, good results can happen. The causes need to be looked at so we won’t make the same mistakes again. Follow along. You will be happy you did.

What Causes Sun Damaged Skin?

Obviously, it’s the sun. But more specially it is the UV sunrays that cause the harm. In simple terms, it is staying exposed to too much direct sunlight during peak sun hours.

Limiting overexposure to the sun will prevent damage to the skin. If you have ever had a sunburn you know that the forehead, nose, face and the neck really get the brunt of it. Also the hands and arms catch it.

Just doing the above prevention step will do wonders for your skin recovery. In other words, don’t keep ‘throwing salt in the wound’. Get out of and stay out of the sun.

Now here are the 3 easy steps to prevent and restore sun-damaged skin.

Step 1 – When you do go out into the sun apply zinc oxide to the exposed skin area. Do not use sunscreen because it is absorbed into the skin. And it blocks vitamin D. I know that is advice contrary to what is popular. Zinc oxide does not vanish into the skin but keeps a protective layer on top. Also the SPF factor is under suspicion that it may be harmful in some way. Just be safe use zinc oxide.
