For over 3,000 years, the Chinese have developed the art of promoting an inner energy flow that was considered the basis of healing. Physical disease was thought to have an origin of stagnated energy. Once this “blockage” of energy was dispersed and a greater flow of energy stimulated, symptoms of illness would normalize. These energy flows run throughout the body on pathways called “meridians,” mapped out from traditional Chinese medical texts and named after different organs and body systems. Along the meridians, various concentrations of energy, known as “points,” can be stimulated through massage, needle or heat application to promote well-being. There have been many applications of palm energy, mineral and gem placement and most recently, electrical stimulation on specific acupuncture points to influence the human energy field. A common example of energy flow can be seen in a garden hose. The water freely flows until a kink occurs in the hose. This slows the flow down to a trickle. This juncture is where the blockage of water is occurring. If we straighten the kink (compared to stimulating an acupuncture point along a stagnant meridian) the strength of the flow is restored. Our CieAura Transparent Holographic Chipsâ„¢ influence key points to create the desire effect.

Acupuncture points are simple to understand, because there’s almost a natural connection in how we instinctively treat them. For instance, there’s a Bladder #1 point that is bi-lateral and exists on both sides of the bridge of the nose. Continue reading ‘How to Get A Good Night Sleep Without Drugs Pills or Potions’ »

Is it possible that Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) causes Alzheimer’s Disease (AD)? I believe so. As a retired clinical neurologist and former patient with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, I have a special interest in sleep disorders medicine. I am thoroughly convinced of the connection between OSA and AD and will remain so until credible studies prove otherwise. Numerous short term studies have been done on cognition (mental processes) and sleep or the lack thereof, but there are few or no long term studies to determine OSA’s relationship to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and/or the other dementias.

Many polysomnograms (PSGs) or in lab sleep tests have been done on patients with AD revealing an incidence of OSA of up to seventy to ninety percent.  The assumption has been that AD causes OSA, or they just happened to coincide, but I contend that OSA is the cause of AD. To have the health of your dreams, you need to spend more time dreaming. Research shows that one of the best ways to improve your health tomorrow is to get a good night’s sleep tonight – at least 7 – 8.5 hours. That may sound simple enough, but the fact is that Americans have racked up a huge “sleep debt” through the years. On average, people living in the United States get at least one hour less sleep per night than they did 20 years ago. After several days, weeks or months of sleep debt, we have trouble concentrating and making important decisions about everything from our job to homework and paying bills.

The director of the National Center on Sleep Disorders Research in Bethesda, Maryland was recently quoted as saying that sleep is just as important to our overall health as a healthy diet and exercise. Sleep deprivation has been linked to many health-related problems including chronic fatigue and obesity. It’s also blamed for an increased risk of causing an auto accident. You can’t do your best driving on the road without a good night’s sleep!

Sleep is without a doubt one of the most important aspects of our daily routine as far as the maintenance of health and prevention of disease is concerned. After all, sleep is when the body regenerates itself, thereby making it ready for a whole new day of activity. It gives your body a chance to rebalance itself. People who sleep well feel better, look younger, live longer, and are more energized and motivated throughout every physical and mental challenge of every day. Every hour of the day, my inbox fills up with a depressing pile of emails. Despite the best efforts of various states around the world to shut down spam networks and the filters I have in place, I still get messages which read, “I am contacting you to seek your good assistance to transfer and invest USA 19.9 million belonging to my late father which is deposited in a bank in Abidjan. Following the brake out of the war, almost all government offices, operations and prostates were attacked and vandalized.” I know my prostate often feels like it has been vandalized. But, ignoring the spam, even the messages from people on my approved mailing list can still fall into the twilight zone where the place is here and the time is now, but the words somehow have had their meaning twisted into something terrible as they traveled through the internet. Snoring is a fairly common affliction. In fact, it’s so common that many have learned to disregard it.

It is caused by loose hanging tissues that prevent the normal air passage in the throat. This happens when the body and the muscles surrounding the throat are at their most restful positions. This explains why though we literally breathe the whole day, only during sleep do we experience snores.

The tongue for example, would fall back into the throat when the jaw drops. Thus, narrowing the air passage. The pressure then passing through the throat would be doubled (or tripled depending on the speed of the wind that runs through it). Thus, vibration is created.

We often hack this problem by creating states wherein the muscles would not fall back to create blockages.

To prevent snoring, patients are often advised not to sleep on their sides. This is because there is constraint of air passage when one sleeps on his back. Coupled with gravity, the tongue and other loose muscles will fall back to the throat, which then creates much less space. Continue reading ‘Ways To Prevent The Causes Of Snoring’ »
