Let’s dig deeper into the importance of the correct food intake and pain relief supplements for hemorrhoids treatment. We already know that a healthy and fiber-rich diet is one of the keys to avoid hemorrhoids and prevent it from worsening. Pain relief medicine and supplements are also helpful with the bleeding and the pain wrought by the swollen veins. Let’s take them all in detail in this article.

Pain Relief Supplements and Herbal Medicine For Hemorrhoids

There are many herbs and supplements that are being promoted nowadays to get away from the pain of hemorrhoids. Some have been recommended, and some have been medically tested although not universally accepted yet as a prominent supplement for the treatment of hemorrhoids.

The horse chestnut, for example, or aesculus hippocastanum, is an herb that is known to be safe and efficient as treatment to hemorrhoids. An extract of this herb is usually combined with other herbs to further improve blood circulation. When taking a supplement that has the horse chestnut, take care to read and follow the label instructions.

The butcher’s broom, or ruseus aculeatus, is an herb effective on fragile veins and varicose veins. It also helps us from mild attacks of hemorrhoids. It helps with the pain, the inflammation, and the irritation caused by the condition. The witch hazel leaf, or the hamamelis virginiana, also has the same effective treatment on hemorrhoids.

You might also want to try strong chamomile or comfrey tea, but this time on your sitz baths. Adding a cup of these herbs can improve your sitz baths and help reduce the pain. You can also a drop of valerian root tincture, but only when you’re having spasms.

What Food To Take and Not To Take

This has been mentioned already, but this deserves to be said again. A healthy diet counts a lot when you haveĀ  or are trying to avoid hemorrhoids. Meals that are rich in fiber and drinking lots of water is the way to go. Food with lots fiber in it, like whole grain products, wheat, vegetables, and fruits, help in promoting a smooth digestion and softens the stool. Water also promotes these benefits. Make sure that you drink at least 6 glasses of water a day.

Regarding what’s not allowed in your healthy regime, you have to stay away from processed food, alcohol, and caffeine. Processed food, fast food, sweets and sugary foods can make our stool hard. This can lead to constipation and strained bowel movement, which can lead to hemorrhoids.

As or alcohol and drinks containing caffeine, they tend to dehydrate us and cause irritation and inflammation to the hemorrhoids. If we want to be cured of our hemorrhoids, or if we want to avoid it, we had better stay clear from beer, coffee, sodas, and other alcoholic and caffeinated drinks.

Although we can always buy creams and applications for our hemorrhoids, we should not necessarily depend on them to relieve us of our pain. They can only help us for a short while. There is also surgery to look forward to when we have hemorrhoids. The problem with surgery is that it does not necessarily stop hemorrhoids from coming back. If we go back to our careless lifestyle that gave us hemorrhoids, then there is no stopping it from creeping back into our lives. If there’s a sure-fire hemorrhoids treatment, it is that we should not stop our healthy diet and fiber-rich meals.
