A panic attack, what to do when it happens, and managing it are thoughts we may have from time to time. Not just us, but the millions of others that suffer from it each and every year. When panic attacks enter our lives and decides to stay, it can prevent us from living life the way we used to. One way to reduce the odds of them occurring is through the anxiety. What do we do with Anxiety?
We work at reducing it! By reducing our anxiety, it will in turn help us to lower the odds of having a panic or anxiety attack. With this in mind, we will need to target the largest sources of anxiety.
One of the huge producers is the constant worry we tend to do. The problem lies in the way it escalates into an attack. It starts as a small and harmless thought. This thought then receives attention, it grows exponentially and eventually mutates into fear. The key here is to practice finding these small thoughts before they get out of control. Keep a journal or such, and it may reveal some additional insight to your thought patterns.
Other sources that can combine into a major force of anxiety can be found within our regular daily activities. It can have quite a wide range, so some time and thought will need to be put into creating a list. This list of causes can be used creatively, and reduce the individual components that produce anxiety one at a time.
This can be done with some effort, but will produce no results if no action is taken. When going through the list, also ask questions starting with “How can” instead. If we ask “How Can I reduce my anxiety at work?”, with a little time we will think and figure out ways to do that. Our mind will tend to give us positive answers when we ask it questions that demand it.
