I started out with the &#8220;D&#8221; word, can you believe it? Of course you can, as any weight loss program has to take this into consideration. Here is the simple fact you can not eat 5000 calories a day (or a meal for some of us) and expect to maintain or even loss weight. A couple of common sense items is all for this area. You need to control the number of calories you take into your body. There are plenty of diet books and websites that will help you decide what is right for you, but somewhere around 2000/day seems to be the norm. Here is the key &#8211; whatever you decide is right for you spread them out over the day. If you try to &#8220;diet&#8221; and eat little or nothing for breakfast and lunch and then eat all you calories at dinner (followed by a late night snack &#8211; come on I do it too so let&#8217;s be honest). This pattern causes your body to go into survival mode due to the starvation the first half of the day and store most of the calories as fat when it finally does get feed to get it through the next morning. So find a way to spread your calories out over the day,</p>
<p>small amounts ever couple of hours to keep the hunger away and feed your body as it needs it, not all at once. So I packed my desk at work with low calorie items (pretzels, granola, almonds, etc.) and between meals (10 am &amp; 2 pm) I would snack a little to keep my metabolism up. And I had a snack again at night, it is important if you do this you give your body time to process those calories. Right before bed it not the time, try to make your final snack 2 &#8211; 3 hours before going to bed.</p>

Again this shouldn&#8217;t be news; you need to burn more calories that you take in if you want to shed the pounds. The trick it to find something you enjoy doing and then don&#8217;t over do it. DO NOT START a new exercise program without first consulting your doctor. There is an old story about a man who lifted a calf each morning and then finally one day he lifted a cow (hint: the calf grew into a cow). Basically he did it in small increments each time until he built up the strength to lift the cow. For me it was walking, so I started just going around the block I lived on. I added an extra block every couple days or once a week. Before long I was walking a little over 3 miles around my neighborhood. So don&#8217;t try to run a marathon your first time out. Start small and build, consistency is the key.</p>

So, I am giving you permission to start now and do something for yourself. Make the decision to get healthy. Make the decision to start now and get your body in shape. We are blessed with this one body (I sound like Sally Fields in the Boniva commercial) and it is up to you to take the first step to make it last. So, let&#8217;s talk steps.</p>
<p>Step 1: Educate yourself on how to read labels. Here are some tips on what you don&#8217;t want to see on labels: Fat more than 10 grams, no more than 500 milligrams of sodium per serving, no trans fats, no carbs more than 25 grams. Now go clean out the kitchen and make your family eat healthier.<span id="more-848"></span></p>
<p>Step 2: Get to steppin&#8217;! That&#8217;s right, MOVE! It&#8217;s summer, we have longer days and NO excuse to not go for a walk. If you just walk 3 times a week for at least 1 hour you will start feeling less stress, more energy and see noticeable changes in your body.</p>
<p>Ste 3: Set yourself a goal but make it realistic. Look at where you want to be in little phases. For example, let&#8217;s say you need to loose 50 lbs. Don&#8217;t look at the 50 lbs all at 1 time. Set your goal to loose 5 lbs a week. Then when you reach it, set your next goal for 7 lbs and so on until you have reached the 50 lbs mark.</p>

A lot of cases concerning health conditions are showing through old age. Since the body gets weaker, it is more prone to illnesses and diseases that may harm or hurt the person more, hence, they have become more vulnerable to such conditions.</p>
<p>A common type of arthritis that affects people over the age of 60, is osteoarthritis. Since symptoms of arthritis are mainly regarded as joint inflammation, or the feeling of pain or stiffness, this type of arthritis also has the same conditions, but is occurring mostly when of old age. Aches and swelling with weakened motion in the joints, particularly hands, hips, knees or spine are the common symptoms of arthritis, specifically osteoarthritis. According to the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), osteoarthritis is described as the deterioration of cartilage and its underlying bone within a joint; also bony overgrowth. Basically, this illness is breaking down a person&#8217;s cartilage. Since the cartilage is the tissue that is wrapped around the ends of the joint, having this joint disease will make the bones rub together, causing joint damage over time.<span id="more-121"></span></p>
<p>This condition can be very painful if not treated immediately. Due to this illness being parallel to old age, it is very crucial to know the patient&#8217;s condition as often times as needed. But old age is not necessarily the cause for such disease. Being overweight can be a factor in getting osteoarthritis. It can alter your movements in a number of ways. It will limit your movements up to the point where you cannot reach for that certain object because your fats are way heavier than you think. By not moving that well, or without proper exercise, this may cause to reduction of motion in your joints. Another factor in considering osteoarthritis is by simply injuring a joint. A person who has injured his joint can also lead to this disease, if not medicated promptly or properly.</p>
<p>In dealing with osteoarthritis, it is important to know different kinds of arthritis pain relief.
