Why do some people choose to use drugs when they’re so bad for you? The causes of drug addiction are as varied as the amount of drugs that are available for use – both legally and illegally. There is no one cause for drug addiction just like there is no consistent profile of a drug user.

People who have a history of drug use or abuse in their families are at risk for drug addiction problems. It has been proven that children of alcoholics will exhibit addictive tendencies. Children of alcoholics or drug users generally have low self-esteem and see their parents escaping from problems using drugs. When they see this, their minds say that this is the way to act and they themselves become users.

There is also a biological basis for causing drug addiction. Drugs alter the brain’s chemicals and the way the brain functions. Drug addiction creates dependence in the brain by changing the brain’s reward functions – the part that reinforces certain behaviors.

Mesothelioma is a very aggressive cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos. Approximately 20 percent of cancers caused by asbestos are peritoneal mesothelioma. This form of the cancer manifests itself in the mesothelial cells of the abdomen when the asbestos fibers become embedded in the space between the cells. It can take as many as 20 to 50 years for the symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma to appear. Over these years, the asbestos fibers irritate the parietal layer that covers the stomach cavity and they begin to produce cancer cells. Fluid builds up and tumors eventually form.

What are the Symptoms?
Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are swelling and pain in the abdomen, diarrhea or constipation, unexplained weight loss, nausea and vomiting, and the appearance of lumps under the skin in the abdominal area.

How is It Treated?
Since this type of cancer is usually diagnosed very late in its development, a positive mesothelioma prognosis is not likely, and treatment options are limited. Chemotherapy and radiation are typically used to threat the cancer, along with medication to provide pain relief. For many patients, surgery is not an option because at the point of discovery, the cancer has already spread too far and the patient’s poor health may make him or her too weak to recover from the trauma of surgery. How to look at cancer from a NATURAL point of view

Cancer and your diet

The following excerpt comes from a well-known medical magazine and the idea was to deal it with people who are more looking at natural remedies and life without pills.

In cases where patients have already been diagnosed with cancer, treatment is definitely necessary.

— An apple a day plus a veggie-intensive diet are the stars of new cancer prevention studies.

Hey, guess what? In today’s world we are finding more and more problems with people? Do you know why? Could it because our early detections are not working as well as we planned? Is it our health care system and the 45,000,000+ people with out health insurance or un-adequate insurance?

Maybe it’s it because you and I are sucking down more poison then any other time in history. People find it humorous almost to say, yeah this hamburger isn’t good for me but screw it! Well you and I can that see this type of position of your health, is unhealthy in itself. But what about those who seem to try to stay in good graces with their health and yet they still find themselves getting cancer or other diseases?

Well it’s not as far off as someone who says, the hell with it. The only difference is, they don’t know what’s hurting them. Foods and artificial sweeteners such as Aspartame (or AminoSweet) – Trans fats, bad water & EMFs (Electro Magnetic Field (or Electro Mangentic Chaos) – from microwaved food, cell phones and power lines) are killing people and they don’t even know it! As I continue to write, I continue to read from the wisdom of others. I especially like well researched scholarly works that gather and present facts that substantiate truths and beliefs as we struggle to find ways to justify decisions we make about life and health and wellness.

And so I read another well written, well researched article in the LA Times, this one, by Devon Schuyler, March, 22, 2010: “Obesity’s role in cancer. It may not cause the disease, but studies show a link between fat and certain types.” I hope you read it too.

I am neither a cancer doctor nor a reporter. Although, I like the facts, they reinforce my beliefs. I pay most attention to a picture bigger than isolated facts; i.e. that Excess Fat is related to and the cause of many obvious and provable health problems and is suspected to be the cause of many more. Shopping at a “brick and mortar” store has its advantages, such as the products being right there in front of you. However, the internet provides much more than that. Browsing vitamins and supplements online provides additional information about the products, as well as great prices and a larger inventory than many walk-in stores. Shopping online offers convenience, privacy, and a broader selection of products with savings rarely found at your local store. Through the internet, you can find suppliers for items you use every day and even unique items that you may be interested in trying. Another benefit of shopping online is the ability to obtain information on a variety of similar supplements that may be closely akin to the product you already use.

In recent years, the sale of health supplements has increased as more people have become aware of the health benefits they provide. A growing percentage of supplement sales are occurring online. Internet shoppers are rewarded for their patronage by the numerous health supplement discounts and loyalty programs that are relatively easy for buyers to find. When a person grows old, the body eventually gets weaker, since it has been alive and functioning for the past, let’s say, seventy years. The body is strong enough to stand the test of time, at least for a hundred years or so. Of course, it depends on the person if he/ she maintains their health and body to last them through their golden years. But not all people endure being old. A lot of cases concerning health conditions are showing through old age. Since the body gets weaker, it is more prone to illnesses and diseases that may harm or hurt the person more, hence, they have become more vulnerable to such conditions.

A common type of arthritis that affects people over the age of 60, is osteoarthritis. Since symptoms of arthritis are mainly regarded as joint inflammation, or the feeling of pain or stiffness, this type of arthritis also has the same conditions, but is occurring mostly when of old age. Aches and swelling with weakened motion in the joints, particularly hands, hips, knees or spine are the common symptoms of arthritis, specifically osteoarthritis. According to the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP), osteoarthritis is described as the deterioration of cartilage and its underlying bone within a joint; also bony overgrowth. Basically, this illness is breaking down a person’s cartilage. Since the cartilage is the tissue that is wrapped around the ends of the joint, having this joint disease will make the bones rub together, causing joint damage over time.
