Being overweight basically means having more body fat than is healthy for you. People are conscious about their weight regardless of being over weight or not. Weight is a serious issue because it determines the health of a person. However, certain diseases and medical conditions can make it difficult for the body to tolerate even a moderate fat. Fat free dieting may help people with these conditions and has proven to successfully achieve weight loss in other cases as well.

For a standard healthy diet, it is suggested that 30% of the total calories eaten should comprise of fat. Fat free dieting should be well balanced and well planned. It is better to keep fresh fruits and vegetables available at all times. To begin with it is better to keep it simple and to monitor the calories.

Some specifics that you need to take into consideration when looking to go on a fat free diet are as follows:

• Chew and eat your foods slowly.
• Select healthy food like fruits, vegetables, low fat meats, and fish and avoid dairy products.
• Abstain from taking food with high fat and calories.
• Avoid pastries, candy bars, pies and other bakery stuff with sugar and butter.

If possible consult a nutritionist to provide you with a healthy and effective fat free dieting plan. It is better to consume 4-5 small meals a day than to avoid food at all. Fruit and vegetable salads are an excellent choice as they are rich in fiber and have little or no fat. A minute amount of olive oil and vinegar or lemon can be used as salad dressing with little spices.

Some of the varieties of foods that can be consumed in fat free dieting include high quantity of fish and chicken breasts as white meat has less fat in comparison to red meat. Whole grain or bran breads are better than white whole wheat breads, and should be consumed at least once a day perhaps in breakfast. Fruits such as apples, oranges, apricots and pomegranate are healthy fat free choices, and in vegetables it is safe to consume cauliflower, carrots, celery and broccoli. Avoid potatoes as they are quite rich in fat.

Supplementary foods are available such as diet sodas and diet cottage cheese. These have fat in them, perhaps not as much as actual sodas or cheese but it is present in lesser quantity. Diet chocolates and ice creams are also available in the market. However a great misconception with these diet items lead people into a false sense of security. These products do not use sugar; rather they use Aspartame, a supplement sweetener, along with the regular ingredients of cream butter and other dairy products. You may wonder why they are still known as diet foods. Well, this is because they are basically meant for diabetics who are required to avoid sugar but not dairy foods.

Fat free dieting means to diminish the amount of fat consumed in daily intake of food. However this does not mean that the food you will consume is going to be without fat. There is no food available except perhaps water and sugar that does not have fat in it. Fat free basically means minimum fats in a food and these are the types of foods on which your daily diet needs to be based.

Fat free dieting is a little complicated to plan since it requires a delicate balance of food and nutrition. Click here to learn more.

Medical tests are important tools, but they have limits. Some people think that the more tests they have, the better off they’ll be. Wise consumers know medical tests have costs and risks as well as benefits. To help your doctor make good choices about tests for you, you need to:

Learn the basics.

What is the name of the test and why do I need it?

If the test is positive, what will the doctor do differently?

What could happen if I don’t have the test?

Consider the risks and benefits.

How accurate is the test? How often does it indicate a problem exists when there is none (false positive)? How often does it say there is no problem when there is one (false negative)?

Is the test painful? What can go wrong?

How will I feel afterward? Are there less risky alternatives?

Ask about costs.
How much does the test cost? Is there a less expensive test that might give the same information?

Let your doctor know:
Your concerns about the test. What you expect the test will do for you. Ask if that is realistic.

Any medications you are taking.

Whether you are pregnant or have other medical conditions.

Your decision to accept the test.

If a test seems costly, risky, and not likely to change the recommended treatment, ask your doctor if you can avoid it. Try to agree on the best approach. No test can be done without your permission.

Once you agree to a test, ask what you can do to reduce the chance of errors. Ask about food, exercise, alcohol, or medications to avoid before the test. After the test, ask to review the results. Take notes for your home records. If the results are unexpected and the error rate of the test is high, consider redoing the test before basing further treatment on the results.

Many people that have limited walking distance abilities can benefit from a motorized wheelchair. It used to be that a wheelchair was prescribed for only those that couldn’t walk at all. For some medical conditions, it has been found to be useful to have another method to make longer distances, such as visiting the grocery store, the large retail stores and even hotels and casinos.

If you have a motorized wheelchair, you can still be comfortable and not suffer the over-exertion that walking long distances can cause. For many, this gives you the freedom to maneuver many places you might not consider going, otherwise. It is highly possible that your insurance may pay for this mode of transportation if you have a health condition that recommends it.

For those that live alone, a motorized wheelchair can offer added mobility and the freedom to go wherever you want. Even if your legs aren’t disabled, if you have had hip surgery, have a heart condition or some other medical ailment, like respiratory conditions, it can offer a way to avoid over-exertion, yet still lead an active life.

Since there are many models and price ranges available in a motorized wheelchair, there is something to fit any lifestyle or medical requirement. The fact that medically prescribed wheelchair assistance can improve your health and lifestyle has made them more popular than years past. They are more affordable for the average person and come in a variety of electric, power, and motorized versions.

Of course, the portability and the fold-ability makes them easier to transport in the back seat of your car or the trunk so you never have to worry about the limitations of your medical condition, when it comes to going someplace special, like a large shopping mall, a festival, the airport or an arena. You don’t have to worry whether you can walk the distance without injuring your health or over-exerting yourself with a motorized wheelchair.

When you are considering a motorized or powered wheelchair as a means to go more places and save yourself the embarrassment of asking somebody to assist you, there is reason to be assured of self-sufficiency. Many of today’s models are easily managed and they are made lightweight and portable. That is what has made them a popular means of getting around for the older crowd and those that have limiting health conditions.

No matter what your past perceptions of motorized wheelchairs might be, you need to investigate today’s options. They are made for better mobility around your home, the yard, the park, and other large public areas that can be cumbersome walks. When you want more freedom of mobility, a motorized wheelchair offers the best option for many people.

Millions of people suffer from insomnia, you may fall asleep then find yourself waking up during the night, tossing, turning and having a hard time going back to sleep can be so exhausting. Stress can cause you to suffer from sleep problems, poor diet and your lifestyle. Many do not know but the type of food you eat depends on what type of sleep you get.

Men and women suffer from this medical condition but women suffer more because of menopause, pregnancy and menstruation.

Sleep is very important to our health; not getting enough sleep can cause illness, medical conditions and change your appearance by increasing the signs of aging causing under eye bag, dark circles and lack of concentration. Feeling tired all the time is no picnic. Here are some tips on how to get a peaceful night sleep.

No coffee before bedtime everyone knows that caffeine keeps you going. If you drink coffee do it way before bedtime because it can take up to 6 to 8 hours for caffeine to leave your system.

Try to avoid going to sleep after eating heavy meals; they can make you sleepy which will cause you to take a nap, so try to stay awake so it won’t interfere with your nighttime sleep.

A sleepy hormone called melatonin that your body produces is also in the foods you eat. Scientists have discovered this hormone in foods like rice, oats, sweet corn, ginger, bananas and barley says Russell Reiter, PHD, of cellular and structural biology and author of Melatonin: Your Body’s Natural Wonder Drug.

Lack of Nutrition and Vitamins may affect your sleep cycle too. The better your diet is the greater your sleep will be. Studies have shown that people who do not get enough copper and iron into their diet have a longer time falling asleep. Shellfish have lots of iron in it; eating about 20 small steamed clams for example would provide 25 milligrams of iron or 139 percent of the daily value

A sleep aid called Oxy Sleep if other methods are not convenient for you. It is an all-natural sleep aid that provides your brain the hormones it needs for you to fall asleep and stay that way all night without any tossing and turning. It has ingredients that fight insomnia so that the sand man can do his job. This sleep aid also relives stress and anxiety.

Drinking a cup of chamomile tea before bedtime relaxes you, it really prepares your body for sleep, warm milk is also has a calming effect to the brain.

Magnesium is another mineral that is essential for good sleep. Having low levels of it stimulates the brain neurotransmitters, which leads to over stimulation of the brain. Foods that contain this mineral are pinto and navy beans, green leafy vegetables like spinach, Swiss chard, soybeans, pumpkin seeds, wheat germ and almonds.

Vitamin B also is important when it comes to your diet. It has tryptophan, which is found in foods like turkey and dairy products. It helps the brain to relax and go to sleep. When we eat, it draws blood into the gastrointestinal tract and away from the brain, which then causes you to get sleepy.

Avoid drinking alcohol before going to bed, though it might make you past out it also makes you wake up during the night as well so alcohol plays with your mind and your body. Chocolate will interrupt your sleep cycle too, but only eating it before bed.

If you find yourself suffering from insomnia because of frequenting urination during the night it could be a prostate condition when it comes to men, waking up to use the bathroom is the most common when it comes to getting up during the night. For women it could be a bladder condition or urinary tract infection. If you have a prostate problems getting a prostate health supplement that promotes prostate health is very crucial to your health it can prevent cancer and other medical conditions. Prostacet provides a comprehensive blend of vitamins and herbs that protect your body for greater health.

Thinking Tip: If you take medications checkout the side effects, some medicines are a culprit for insomnia.
